PDO/PCL Threads

PDO / PCL Threads

PDO (Polydioxanone) and PCL (Polycaprolactone) threads offer a revolutionary approach to non-surgical facial rejuvenation. Threads are made from biodegradable materials that are widely used in the medical field making PDO/PCL threads trusted for their safety and efficacy. Threads are used for lifting, tightening, and rejuvenating sagging or loose skin as well as an alternative method for adding natural looking volume to areas of the face that are not suitable for dermal fillers.

The procedure involves the insertion of PDO/PCL threads beneath the skin surface, where they act as a scaffold, enhancing collagen production and creating a natural tightening effect. Treatment areas include cheeks, jawline, neck, under eyes, nasolabial folds, marionette lines and necklace lines. Threads can also be used on the body such as arms and abdomen to help tighten sagging or loose skin. PDO/PCL threads dissolve over time which stimulates the production of collagen, leaving a lasting result.

PDO / PCL Threads FAQ's

Ideal candidates for PDO/PCL threads are typically individuals seeking non-surgical solutions for facial rejuvenation and skin tightening. Those who are experiencing mild to moderate skin laxity, visual signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles as well as those who have lost volume under their eyes.

Visible results are typically immediate, with the added benefit of continued collagen production over several months.

Though individual results may vary, the longevity of PDO/PCL is between 18-24 months.

PDO/PCL Threads are a non-surgical, minimally non-invasive procedure, with little or no downtime. Most patients return to their normal routines soon after treatment. Some patients may experience mild discomfort or minor bruising post-treatment.

To reduce the risk of possible bruising, is recommended to discontinue the use of Aspirin, Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil, Aleve), supplements that include St. John’s Wort, Fish Oil, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, and Ginseng, as well as the cosumption of alcohol 3-7 days prior to treatment. Written aftercare instructions are provided post-treatment.

The procedure involves inserting numbing the insertion point with local anesthesia, the PDO/PCL threads are then strategically placed beneath the skin using a thin needle or cannula. The procedure usually takes about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the treated areas and the complexity of the treatment plan.
